I. OŠ Čakovec: 10 Erasmus+ partnerships in new school year
The largest and oldest school in Međimurje is one of the leading schools in Croatia in terms of the number of international partnerships funded by the European Commission from the Erasmus+ program. The new school year we started with a rich Erasmus+ portfolio with six successfully completed projects and ten active international strategic partnerships led by three coordinators: Helena Slamek, Ivana Ružić and Ela Vujnović. There are five newly approved international strategic partnerships that are starting to be implemented in the first elementary school in Čakovec.
Struggle Against Values Extinction - Struggle against the extinction of values. Partners from Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Portugal, Italy and Croatia participate in the project. This project is aimed at helping students to know and value their local identity, tradition, culture and every aspect of their heritage, while promoting the awareness that they are part of a wider cultural framework. It is expected that this project motivates students and teachers to expand their knowledge about the way of life of other European countries, to practice foreign languages and use new technology while encouraging true tolerance and friendship.
DON'T CHANGE THE CLIMATE; CHANGE THE SYSTEM! is the name of the project in which schools from Italy, North Macedonia, Turkey, Romania and Croatia cooperate with the aim of developing awareness of sustainable development and the use of concrete tools for implementing good practice in all educational activities, thus ensuring social equality and reducing early school leaving rates . Expected project results include climate change research, engaging students in active citizenship, focusing on the environment and climate goals, supporting environmental and climate change awareness
Little Responsible Citizens Are Reshaping Their Future: is a project in which schools from Turkey, Great Britain, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Poland and Croatia participate. The goals of the international school partnership are: to raise responsible citizens who can take measures to stop climate change, love their nature and keep their environment clean, care for animals, preserve their cultural values, are ready to improve their digital and language skills in order to catch up with the skills 21 century. By working in the project, teachers will be able to create common teaching material through cooperation and exchange of examples of good practice, and students will develop awareness of their culture and cultural differences, accept tolerance, be against discrimination, defending equality at all levels, know how to take precautionary measures to preserve their the environment and saved animals, they will discover the beauty of nature and love it more.
A partnership of schools from Turkey, Poland, Romania and the 1st elementary school Čakovec under the name What's up Mr. A bug? - Insects As the Wonder of Ecosystem was founded with the aim of teaching basic concepts about the environment and ecology, direct observation of nature to enable students to use different sensory organs, students will create materials that will enable them to compare culture, country and better understand European identity. Project activities are designed to make students more open and improve their understanding of diversity, tolerance, developing students' awareness of environmental issues, influencing their daily actions, eliminating negative and harmful habits, transforming the way of thinking of project participants, as well as the local community.
ARTIE - artificial intelligence in elementary school education - challenges and opportunities of the new era: development of curriculum, manuals for teachers and educational materials for students is the name of the project whose main coordinator is the 1st elementary school Čakovec. Through the cooperation of the School, the Croatian Robotics Association, the educational agency from the Netherlands, schools from Poland and Portugal, a complete curriculum, methodical manuals for teachers and digital educational materials will be developed that enable students, teachers, the local community and educational policy makers to: develop the awareness and skills of teachers in regarding the teaching of artificial intelligence, presents guidelines and resources on how to include artificial intelligence in the school curriculum, teaching and everyday school life, presents practical projects of using artificial intelligence for students, prepares students for future education and future jobs.
The remaining five partnerships: iPads School Learning for the Future, Clou Computing and Social Media in Primary Education, CodeInnova and Peace is not Free were started in previous years, project activities are continuously implemented with the goals of developing digital skills, computer thinking and programming skills, developing awareness about the importance of peace and freedom.
