CARNET's conference for users - CUC, which is celebrated every year, provides an opportunity for cooperation, exchange of information, knowledge and experience to all teachers, teachers and principals from primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Croatia. In addition to teachers, teachers and principals, the conference gathers members of the scientific and research community, professors at faculties, CARNET engineers and coordinators, as well as IT experts and entrepreneurs from the field of information and communication technology. CUC enables all participants to exchange information, experiences and knowledge related to information and communication technology and its use in education with an adaptation and pedagogical approach.
It has traditionally been held for many years, and this year around 1,000 participants gathered at the 23rd consecutive CARNET conference for users called "New opportunities", and the program was mostly dedicated to hybrid and flexible education, i.e. distance learning and technologies which help in the implementation of the same, the implementation of artificial intelligence in education and the application of technology for green and sustainable development in schools. During the three days of the conference, many workshops, interactive presentations and panel discussions were held, through which participants gained new and improved existing knowledge and experience. Several workshops and interactive presentations were about artificial intelligence, which last year's eighth-grade students across Lijepa naše had the opportunity to get to know last school year by solving the free online course Elements of AI, which was launched by CroAI, Agency 404 and the University of Zagreb in cooperation with the Rector and the University of Zagreb. Helsinki. All participants actively participated, learned, reflected, solved problem tasks and applied what they had learned.
The course was completed by a total of 713 students from primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Croatia, and two schools from Međimurje County were among the best - Čakovec Primary School and Hodošan Primary School, which became AI certified schools and the students received commemorative t-shirts. In addition, the schools received an invitation from CARNET to participate in this year's user conference. Thus, the principal of the 1st elementary school Siniša Stričak and computer science teachers Ivana Ružić and Ivana Vadlja took part in the conference, and from the elementary school Hodošan principal Damir Kovačić and computer science teacher Jasminka Horvat participated in the conference.
