In order to encourage students to think creatively and engage them in the creation of ideas and development of projects even in these challenging moments of social distancing, the School Book, the Institute for Innovation and the Scientific Center of Excellence for School Effectiveness and Management launched the Digital Student Incubator. The purpose of the digital student incubator is to actively encourage creative and abstract thinking, stimulate entrepreneurial spirit and value creation, educate students about creativity, innovation and starting projects, promote teamwork and togetherness within the class, enable students to show proactivity and responsibility in extracurricular activities.

More than 1,900 students from 160 schools from all over the Republic of Croatia participated in the Digital Student Incubator. 30 students of the first elementary school Čakovec readily accepted the challenge, developed and presented three entrepreneurial projects under the mentorship of teachers Silvija Martišek and Ivana Ružić. Potepuh is a project promoting active tourism in Međimurje, Geo Escape Room is an educational computer game that tests knowledge of geography, and Natural disaster survival is an educational computer game that teaches safe and responsible behavior during natural disasters.

For the developed entrepreneurial ideas and works of students, the 1st elementary school Čakovec won fourth place, and the Natural disaster survival project was declared the best student project. On Thursday, June 10, 2021, Filip Vrhovnik, the organizer of the competition, visited the first elementary school in Čakovec, met the students and their entrepreneurial ideas, and presented them with prizes and awards. The mayor of Čakovec, Mrs. Ljerka Cividini, also participated in the ceremony, who expressed her satisfaction and enthusiasm for the knowledge and skills of the students and encouraged and motivated them to further progress.
